Role as VP of Events:

As the VP of Events, I was in charge of planning and running any large event throughout the year. I started off by hosting a Startup Survival event for local high school students to engage in critical thinking and entrepreneurship to create a rival company to a large existing business like Uber or Netflix. I also organized and hosted the semi-annual Global Pitch Competition for groups from each BUS100 class to pitch their business ideas that helped one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and was based in a country outside of the U.S. Here is a breakdown of each event:

Startup Survival Event - October 9th, 2024

• I connected with Bryant Admission to partner with us for the event. They were able to sponsor the lunch for the event in exchange for us providing a list of the 100+ high school students that signed up for our event.
• Tyler ( CEO club’s President) and I connected with seven local high schools that were interested in sending students to Bryant for a day for our event. This totaled over 100 students eager to use their business knowledge and develop a rival business.

• We presented each group with a different rival company, a laptop, and sticky notes to brainstorm with students from other schools a unique company that focused on gaining a competitive advantage in one or multiple aspects of business.

Along with many students and CEO e-board members, I walked around the room assisting groups wherever possible.

Semi-Annual Global Pitch Competition - December 5th, 2024

• I worked alongside business faculty and CEO’s club President, Tyler Griffin, to connect with two wonderful judges and our event sponsor, Pearson, to make this event possible.

• I planned and organized 22 student groups to present at this semi-annual pitch competition. This totaled over 100 students that come dressed in business professional the pitch their business ideas to our panel of judges.

• I opened the ceremony with remarks about the wonderful planning job by everyone involved and the amazing work and effort the students had put into their presentations. I also introduced every presenting group.
